Located in the mid of the mountainous range is Skardu city. Having a unique landscape, a city surrounded by mountains and a desert in its middle. Besides its distinct location, many other tourist spots add beauty to Skardu city. Every year so many tourists visit these places. The infrastructure of the city was not developed well, now the government here started to pay attention due to the sudden growth in the tourism industry. Shingrila Resort Skardu:
Shingrilla is a resort having a heart-shaped lake in its mid, located in Kachura Skardu. Here is the
most expensive restaurant, some of them are charging 70k + per night. If you cannot afford such an
expensive restaurant then you can stay at the nearest hotels in Kachura. Due to the sudden
enhancement in tourism, Kachura is now almost full of hotels and motels.
Deosai Skardu:
If you have a plan to visit Skardu then the place I would say you must never miss exploring Deosai
National Park. Deosai Plain is just at 2 hours drive from Skardu city. A plain having lush green grasses
and a variety of flowers. Sheosar Lakes is also adding so much beauty to the plains. These plains
remain under the snow the whole year and are available for tourists only during summer.
Chunda Valley:
This valley is also known as Switzerland of Baltistan. Due to its altitude above the Skardu main city, its weather doesn’t resemble Skardu City. Usually, Chunda has huge and early snowfall as compared to the city. Valley has located just 1 and a half hours drive away from the city.
Kharpocho Fort:
Looking at the location and construction materials of the Skardu fort it is hard to believe for someone
that it is the art of any human. After an hour of trekking, you can reach Kharpocho fort which is an art
of the 16th century. Once you reach here you can enjoy the amazing view of Skardu city.
Organic Village Skardu:
A village still has no roads and the only way to reach here is by trekking. While exploring the valley
you might feel that you are still in the stone era. Cold spring water refreshes your mind and body.
This village was named an Organic valley by AKRSP in 2006. Royal Price Charles and Agha Khan
visited the valley in 2006.
Katpana Lake & Katpana Desert:
Katpana Desert located in the mid of Skardu city is also called the cold desert. Jeep rally events are
organized by the government in this desert. Besides the desert, there is a lake. Although the water
level in the lake is not enough for boating the lush green area surrounding the lake is mindblowing.
It's the best place to spend your quality time.
Satpara Lake:
Satpara is a name, famous due to the affiliation of its residence with mountaineering. This Satpara Valley also has a lake called Satpara Dam that not only fulfills the drinking water for Skardu but also uses it in power generation. This lake is located on the way to Deosai.
Manthal Buddha Rock:
These Buddha Rocks indicate the existence of the Budhmat religion here. Similar Kinds of rocks are located in Gilgit city too. For to explore Buddha rocks you have to visit Manthal which is located near Hajigam Skardu.
Hussainabad Waterfall (Ispichu):
In recent years this waterfall got huge famous due to its structure, which is having lush green grasses
