Cultural events are the best way to promote tourism, Government of Gilgit Baltistan is actively organizing several mega events to boost tourism. Sarfaranga jeep rally is one of the popular and successful mega-events.

Location:
Sarfaranga cold desert is located in the Shigar valley of Baltistan. Just beside the Indus river and at the entrance of District Shigar.
Event Date:
Usually, the Sarfaranga jeep rally is organized in the month of October.
3 Days of Sarfaranga Jeep Rally:
This event continues for 3 colorful days. Although It has been named Jeep Rally there are many other games and festivals too.
Sarfaranga Jeep Rally:
Many National Jeep racers participate from all over Pakistan. The Government is now looking to Invite International Racers to make it an International Jeep Rally. The jeep rally was held in several rounds.
Zakh Competition:
An amazing local boat competition is also organized during these 3 days. This event was held in Blindlake Shigar.
Cultural Festival:
Different Stalls, including food, dresses, old weapons, and old utensils enhance the beauty of the event.
Music Night:
On the last day after the announcement of the results, several local bands perform. People enjoy Balti & Urdu songs.
